The District is currently recruiting one Senior Nutrition Specialist to provide technical guidance over the operation of various District food service programs to ensure compliance with federal and other nutritional requirements.

Job Responsibility:  A Senior Nutrition Specialist plans, supervises, and participates in the nutrition activities of the Food Services Branch, which includes
supervising Nutrition Specialists and Senior Food Service Training Specialists, developing and implementing training related to cafeteria
management, testing foods and related products, recommending items for purchase, developing menus and recipes, and conducting nutrition
training activities.

Job Requirement:  EDUCATION: Graduation from a recognized college or university with a bachelors degree in foods and nutrition, dietetics, or a related field
that provides a minimum of 30 semester units in food selection, production, preparation, service, nutrition, or quality control.
EXPERIENCE: Three years of technical experience in the field of nutrition or food testing and development. Experience coordinating or
implementing child nutrition programs is preferred. Supervisory experience is preferred. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: A Registered Dietitian
License; - A valid ServeSafe Certificate or equivalent certificate (Thompson Prometric Certificate); -A valid California Driver License.

Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program

The CDE through the Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program (FFVP) will grant funds to 25 school sites to provide all children in participating schools with a variety of free fresh fruits and vegetables throughout the school day. Applications due by May 21st.  Click here for more information
