Call for Breakout Session Proposals
2009 CSNA Annual Conference
January 9-11, 2009 • San Diego
The program planning committee is seeking breakout session proposals relating to child nutrition programs. If you are interested in organizing and presenting a break-out session, please submit the form below, prepared for you to submit on-line. If you are unable to send the form on-line, please send an email to programs@calsna.orgPlease be aware that CSNA does not normally pay for breakout speakers.  We are a non-profit volunteer organization committed to the education and training of our members.  If you require payment or have a sponsor for your program, please note that in the comments section at the end of the submission form.  These will be reviewed on a case by case basis, and are for extremely limited applications.  Thank you for your understanding.

This year we are also organizing “job-alike” sessions highlighting effective program ideas for child nutrition professionals in similar job positions, job settings (central kitchens vs. on-site preparation), and with special interests (recipe development, for example). If you are interested in organizing a job-alike session on a particular topic, please also use this form.

Job-alike sessions may also be presented in a “table-talk” format (a more informal setting, with more opportunity for group discussion). If you would prefer this format, please send an email briefly describing the topic for the suggested table talk to: programs@calsna.org.

Deadline for submission is June 30, 2008

The 2009 Program Committee will review all proposals and will inform the proposal contact person (see form below) by September 5th, 2009, if the proposal has been accepted.  If you have any questions regarding the program proposal submission process, please email your question to: programs@calsna.org.

Please enter your email address and a password to proceed to the submission form. This information will be used so you can make changes later to your entry if necessary. Your password will be emailed to you as a reminder.

If you don't already have a submission a new one will be created with your email address and password.

Rising Costs of School Meals Survey Results

CA Budget Alert:
The Budget was approved by the Legislature and signed by the Governor.  Prop. 98 K-12 funding was fully funded except for COLA, costing schools $2.9 billion.  We still have the problem created by CDE’s low estimate of meals to be served, creating a for certain reduction in reimbursements for the last fiscal quarter of 2009, much like the last quarter of 2008 (May and June 2008).
